Trolls

Have you ever been attacked by a troll?
A troll is someone who personally attacks you for no other reason than they can.

Here is what I do when this happens to me.
I move right along without a second thought or response.

Oh, and I repeat to myself one of my favorite quotes from Dad:

“The only taste of success some people have
is when they take a bite out of someone else.

The Greatest Commandment

Last week was an incredibly difficult week for our country. Tragedies in Dallas, Minnesota, and Louisiana. Every life is precious.

It’s times like this when I wish my father were here. Dad would have an answer, a course of action, and a word of encouragement.

Vision problems

Do you have a vision?

Something you believe you are supposed to do?

Have you started, only to encounter problems?

Every morning I start the day with a devotional. I love Oswald Chambers’ My Utmost For His Highest.

This quote comes from the July 7 reading:

“God gives us the vision, then He takes us down to the valley to batter us into the shape of the vision, and it is in the valley that so many of us faint and give way.

Our only hope for the future

“Our children are our only hope for the future, but we are their only hope for their present and their future.” -Zig Ziglar

If you’re like me, you want your children to make a positive difference in the world.

Your personal success, no matter how great, won’t matter as much if you fall short in all the things money can’t buy, like raising positive kids.

Halfway to

We are halfway through the year. If you accomplish the same amount of progress the next six months as the last, will you be satisfied?

It’s time to step it up.
The world needs you.
You have dreams worth achieving.

Your future starts today!

Following is a limerick by Cliff Feightner, The Poetry Man.

If only

Have you ever looked in the “If Only” mirror?

If only I were:

Smarter
Taller
More educated
Financially secure

The “if only” list can go on forever.
It is time for you to throw out the “if only” list!
It is the only smart thing to do.

Lessons from Zig – The Badge of Gratitude

Today in the United States we celebrate our independence as a nation. We have much to be grateful for and many millions of people through the generations have served our country. Following is a guest post by Jay Hellwig who served Dad for several years as his personal travel assistant.

Do you see what I see?

Have you ever been stuck in your life?Career stalled?Just going through the motions?

I think we have all been there and done that.Life happens. We experience setbacks and disappointments.

And then it happens. A spark. An idea.Someone says something to us that changes our thinking just slightly.

A life-changing lesson I learned from Dad

A life-changing lesson I learned from Dad.

Many times I saw people come up to Dad and share with him how his message changed their life.

They would then say something like, “I wish ‘Jim’ were here. He is a huge fan of yours, but because of poor health (or life circumstances) he couldn’t be here.

What is real success?

Success is……. (you fill it in).

Really? Are you sure?

What does “the world” say success is?
How many “successful” people do you know who are really miserable?

Success is great.
Significance is greater.

Success is about BECOMING the right person.
